Club Members of Aylsham and District Flower Club have filled a Marquee at Aylsham Show on August Bank Holiday Monday with beautiful floral displays since 1989.  Their award winning team creates professional exhibits which would win prizes at Chelsea Flower Show and have done so in the past.

They always choose a topical theme and this year it will be For All the Saints (not religious saints)

Visitors give donations to show their appreciation and at the end of the day, the arrangements of flowers are auctioned to boost the appeal…….Auction usually starts from 4pm.  (please check timing on Showday)

To date they have raised over £42,000 for local charities. Each year members choose which charity to support and will display leaflets about the charity to the visitors in the Marquee.

Last year their chosen charity was Cavell Nurses Trust and they raised over £1,000. The cheque presentation was part of an annual open meeting day in April arranged by the club which included a speaker, Mr Anthony Perry. (see Just Aylsham for report-22nd April)

This year their charity will be Dementia Research.  The flower club has 55 members and meets on the second Wednesday of each month in Aylsham Town Hall. Coffee from 7pm and meeting starts at 7.30pm finishing around 9.30pm. New members welcome.
