The NMVG was formed in 1977 by a group of enthusiasts interested in restoring and exhibiting all ages and types of military vehicles. The purpose of the Group is to bring together all persons in Norfolk and adjoining counties with a common interest in military vehicles. It is our aim to assist one another in the restoration of these vehicles and to exhibit at local, national and international events in order for the general public to be able to share part of our military heritage.

In addition to our normal local rally programme, the Group organises or participates in a variety of ‘Pilgrimage’ tours. These have seen members and their vehicles in France, Belgium, Holland and the Channel Islands in support of the respective commemoration or liberation celebrations. Our members have also seen the benefit of their labours and our vehicles are often in demand for various film and television work.

Through our attendance at certain events we are able to both supplement our annual running costs in addition to securing funds for both local and national charities. We are proud that on an annual basis we currently donate funds to deserving causes, supporting British Legion regional branches with the annual Poppy Appeal, assisting with fundraising for Veteran’s Norfolk, Help for Heroes and welcome the positive recognition and publicity this brings.

If you are interested in joining the military vehicles preservation movement please see our website for more information.
