Simon Evans President 2016

Aylsham Show PresidentI am delighted and honoured to be President of the Aylsham Agricultural Show Association in this its 70th Year. Upon coming to Norfolk from Hampshire in 1983 and working for Messrs Irelands under the guidance of the, then, Show Director Hubert Sheringham I was soon persuaded to become involved in the Show and its activities. I have been privileged to work within the Association with some very special people who all give freely of their time to make the Show what it is today. The aims and objective of the Show and the entirely voluntary workforce are threefold: 1. Support the Aylsham Recreation Ground, a reminder of the roots of the Show originally held on their ground and the generous gift from the Goulder Famliy. 2. Promote Agriculture and the Breeding of Livestock, and 3. Whenever possible to support local Charities. The Show has honoured these commitments over its 70years and with your invaluable support will continue for many years to come. Many of you will know our Show Day is renowned for providing a full day’s entertainment for all the family. The day is a wonderful opportunity for you to be reminded and enthused by Farming, the Farming Community and Farming for Food, learning about crops and livestock with the numerous classes of Cattle, Sheep and Goats being judged throughout the day. Show jumping and showing rings are running from early morning and there is a full Main Ring programme to be enjoyed together with Trade Stands, Food Outlets and a New Country Sports area. August Bank Holiday Monday is a day for you and the family. I will enjoy my day as President and I trust you will too in the knowledge that you are supporting Local Charities. Simon Evans President 2016
