The AASA (Aylsham Show) donates surplus proceeds to mainly local charitable causes, and other charitable institutions, making a real difference in the local community. Subject to the Show being able to do so, this would normally take place at a Presentation Evening in January each year before the AGM.
Applications from the 2024 Show are now closed and the annual presentation evening for the successful charitable organisations will take place at the Aylsham Town Hall on Monday 13th January 2025.
Well over £1 million pounds has been donated by The Aylsham Agricultural Show Association Limited since the Show began in 1946.
At the 2024 Presentation Evening, Retiring Chairman: Mike Gamble welcomed everybody, and retiring President: Roger Long summed up by saying what an honour it had been for him to present these monies to so many charitable organisations and how humbled all those present were to hear the many great stories of what is going on within Aylsham and the surrounding areas, and how so many vulnerable people of all ages are being helped by so many caring volunteers.
David Hitcham – Event Co-ordinator – said that the 55 Beneficiaries of the 2023 Show proceeds, and who received £21850 in total in January 2024, are listed below in alphabetical order. Those marked * have either helped on Show Day in some way, have connections with the Show, or raised their own monies. Thanks to Ian Gravenell who took the photos at the end of these presentations.
